Farmers Branch Tour of Holiday Lights - December 2-31, 2008 This driving tour starts at I-35E at Valley View and follows the candy cane signs past City Hall and through the Farmers Branch Historical Park. 300,000 lights will shimmer in the December night. The Historical Park portion closed every Monday and December 24, 25 and 31. Free admission with donations accepted
Old Fashioned Christmas at A.W. Perry Homestead Museum – Dec. 5 – 6-8:30pm Enjoy the first weekend in December with free Christmas celebrations in Downtown Carrollton! Stop by the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum (1509 N. Perry Road) from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 for an Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration, including hot cider and cookies! Take a guided tour of the historic home, let the kids make an old-fashioned tree ornament, and listen as Victorian carolers stroll the grounds spreading holiday cheer. Christmas on the Square – Saturday, December 6th – 8am to dusk Follow up the fun the next day at Christmas on the Square. Head over to the Historic Downtown Carrollton Square from 8 a.m. to dusk on Saturday, Dec. 6. Start the day with the Boot Scootin' Santa 5K run and 1K family fun run and take a photo with Santa, then stay until the trees are lit. Don’t miss the stagecoach rides, western re-enactments, or the musical performances throughout the day by local choir groups. There will be more than enough to do, but make sure to write a letter to a soldier and check out the live longhorns, aka reinsteers! Grapevine - The North Pole Express begins running from the historic downtown Grapevine Depot, which will be decorated with thousands of lights, animated characters, and Christmas cheer.
